Minor Hockey in Renfrew is back to usual after a few unsure years due to the pandemic.
That’s Renfrew Minor Hockey Association President Mike McMahon, who says having playoffs back on the schedule is a welcome sight after losing them last year due to a district wide COVID shutdown.
Another thing McMahon is proud of is how RHMA players have shown a high level of respect both on and off the ice this season, something he’s happy to see them learning from their coaches.
He’s also proud of the work being done to improve communication with players and their parents, including through their website and social media.
Playoff games are still a month away, but McMahon says January is their busiest month of the season and the players will not be left bored.
McMahon says teams are also looking forward to the chance to go on away tournaments, and bond off-ice in a way that wasn’t possible over the past few seasons.
