A pair of domestic disputes has local police reminding the community that help is available for people in an abusive relationship.
First, on Tuesday, November 29th, a person in Arnprior was arrested and held on bail for spousal assault and failing to comply with a probation order.
Then, on Sunday, December 4th, a different person would be arrested on two assault charges and for uttering threats. They were released with a later court date scheduled in Renfrew.
If you’re in an abusive relationship, police say you can get in touch with Bernadette McCann House 24/7 for support, advice, or shelter at 1-800-267-4930, the Women’s Sexual Assault Centre of Renfrew County at 1-800-663-3060, or Victim Services of Renfrew County at 613-649-2852.
You can also visit your nearest hospital’s emergency room and ask to speak with a member of their Assault Response Team.
In an emergency, dial 9-1-1.
