Police in Renfrew and Arnprior are teaming up to make sure families in need have a merry Christmas as they switch their charitable focus from food to toys this week.
Renfrew OPP Constable Brianna Roberge says their annual Christmas Toy Drive at the Arnprior Giant Tiger this Saturday, December 10th will be a familiar process if you helped Cram the Cruiser for our local food bank over the December 3rd weekend.
The campaign is a joint effort between both the Renfrew and Arnprior OPP detachments, as well the Giant Tiger in Arnprior.
Constable Roberge says the hope is that the toy drive will see a rebound in donations after some down years during the pandemic.
Constable Roberge, who acts as the media relations officer for the Renfrew detachment, says that the holidays do give them a prime opportunity to meet with the community. However, she also adds that it’s important to keep community outreach efforts a year-round priority.
Officers from the Renfrew and Arnprior detachments will be at the Giant Tiger in Arnprior to collect new, unwrapped toys and cash donations from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday.
