New 96 bed long-term care home to be built in Deep River

The Deep River and District Hospital (DRDH) has shared plans for a new 96-bed long-term care home.

The new 69,700 square foot, 2 story, 96-bed Long-Term Care Home will feature three Resident Home Areas as well as common gathering areas, and a secure courtyard within the “H” shape of the building.

Each Resident Home Area will feature a mixture of single rooms with individual washrooms, and two single rooms with a shared washroom.

The new long-term care home will also include a central kitchen, care centres, and other services.

The DRDH Project Team says the new home is on-track to open as early as 2025.

Progress also continues towards reaching the Closer to Home campaign’s $2.5M goal in support of the new Home.

The Deep River and District Hospital says the new long-term care home will create over 200 jobs, and provide a significant economic boost to the community by providing over $5,000,000 in wages to new employees.
