The Renfrew Wolves kept rolling on Wednesday night, bringing their winning streak to 4 games and handing the Navan Grads their first loss of the season by a score of 4-1 at the Ma-te-Way Activity Centre.
Joey Kennelly opened the scoring for the two sides, as his fourth goal of the season gave the Wolves a 1-0 lead late in the first period.
The Grads would respond in the second after Renfrew forward Brendan Waivada landed a check to the head of his opponent. Nicholas Bennett would bring the game level on the resulting power play. Elvis Slack continued his hot streak, scoring his fifth goal in four games to give Renfrew back the lead heading into the third period, 2-1.
The Wolves would pull away in the final frame, as Aditya Mehta and Tyson Tomasini both scored to seal the game for Renfrew.
Navan weren’t without chances. Renfrew goalie Sebastian Resar had to make 39 stops on 40 attempts for the win. On the other end of the rink, Braedyn McIntosh had 28 saves on 32 shots for the Grads.
Renfrew head to the Bell Sensplex for a series of games this weekend, starting with the Kemptville 73’s. The puck drops at at 1:00pm.
