Adam Laviolette believes he can bring “Common Cents” to Renfrew.
One of eight people running for Town Council in this election, Laviolette tells myFM his campaign slogan is about better infrastructure, better communication, and increasing business interest in town.
Laviolette adds that the current municipal tax bills provided to residents don’t explain much past what needs to be paid, and that information would help them better understand where their money goes when they pay.
While Laviolette says the current council has the roads and infrastructure the right way by focusing on rebuilding roads from the ground up instead of “paving and shaving”, he says that the town could use a smart traffic study to better prioritize which roads in town need the most help.
Adam Laviolette describes himself as a limited-government option for council, and wants to make it easier for businesses to operate in Renfrew. He believes too many by-laws can make it difficult for investors looking to set up shop in town.
He adds that cutting back certain by-laws would make Renfrew a more attractive place for developers when it comes to affordable housing and housing in general.
Laviolette is on the ballot for Town Council, alongside Clint McWhirter, Guy Longtin, Brady Enright, Kyle Cybulski, John McDonald, Andrew Dick, and Jason Legris.
Renfrew will vote on Council, Mayor, and certain school board positions on October 24th.
