A picture is worth a thousand words, and in this instance it’s evidentiary of progress being made in the relocation of a number of German manufacturing firms to McNab-Braeside.
Tom Peckett, who brokered the deal in executing his duties as Township Mayor, explains.
Peckett says all of the industries planning to relocate are involved in the manufacture of steel structures for agriculture and related applications or pursuits, and the specialized equipment required for their assembly is being made overseas.
While every peace-loving Canadian hopes to see a resolution to the conflict in Ukraine’s Donbas region, local residents following the progress of jobs coming to the Township have an additional reason to hope so.
Just as Western sanctions target Russian industry, so too does Putin the reverse.
Peckett says as these industries locate to McNab-Braeside they will deliver on the promise of jobs- but equally important, the moves broaden the industrial tax base of the municipality and have some effect on lowering agricultural and residential taxes.
