Andrew Dick is running for a seat in town council in Renfrew. Dick is a fourth generation resident of Renfrew and operates LANDELLA, RC Fireworks and Dick’s Property Management alongside his wife, Kristy.
Dick believes that Renfrew is on the doorstep for major period of growth in both population and business, and, from his experience, town staff need to be quicker and more responsive in helping new businesses set up if they want to capitalize on the opportunities before them.
That economic growth comes alongside more public facilities and services, but Dick reminds us that a main priority going forward is to figure out how to pay for the Ma-Te-Way Centre expansion, which has gone over budget due to the sudden increase in building materials.
Dick also tells myFM that he will work to make Council more accountable and transparent with the community on town matters. He believes that the town should extend their live streams of council meetings to include all committee meetings in order to give people the chance to be better informed about what’s going on where they live.
Andrew Dick is one of eight candidates in the running for five spots on Town Council in the municipal election, alongside Clint McWhirter, Guy Longtin, Jason Legris, Adam Laviolette, Kyle Cybulski, John McDonald, and Brady Enright.
Renfrew will go to the polls on October 24th.
