Federal holiday or not, our local public school board has let parents and students know that school is in session today.
The decision to keep all school operations in the area up and running was announced in a note from the Renfrew County District School Board last week.
In that message to parents, they point to our provincial government not publicly observing the holiday that will honour the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II as the reason why students will be back to class today.
