James Brose is looking to serve another term as Mayor in North-Algona-Wilberforce. Brose has been the Mayor for the last four years and served a term on council before that. After spending 34-years with the board of education, Brose said he wanted to continue to be involved and support the community.
Over the last four years the Brose feels council has taken the municipality from surviving to thriving.
Brose says the township is not caught up in investigations as and is working to build relationships with neighbouring municipalities. If re-elected as Mayor, Brose hopes to continue working on projects council has already stated. He talks about the relationship with Algonquin College for work on Wilkens Trail, improvements to Melissa Bishop Park, the Golden Lake Community Centre and dealing with congestion and safety concerns at the intersection in Golden Lake.
Brose has also enjoyed his time as a County Councillor where he’s served as Chair of Community Services and Housing Committee. He adds affordable housing is another big issue moving forward.
Brose wanted to congratulate and wish all the other candidates good luck. Residents in North-Algona-Wilberforce will have two options for Mayor as Brose will be running against former Mayor Deborah Farr in the October 24th municipal election.
