The Killaloe OPP are urging motorists to adopt safe, defensive driving habits after a series of crashes on roads they patrol over the span of two weeks.
A two vehicle collision at 4:00pm on August 8th along Highway 60 near McNee Drive in North Algona Wilberforce sent the driver of an SUV to the hospital with non-life threatening conditions after a passenger car collided with them. The other driver, a 21-year old from Barry’s Bay, was charged with careless driving.
Then at 9:30 on August 13th, police responded to a single car crash on Rockingham Road near Dovetail Road in Madawaska Valley after the 22-year old driver lost control and left the roadway. After a police investigation, they were also charged with careless driving.
Lastly, at about 1:30pm on August 21st, another car also lost control and left the road on Church Street near Mountain View Road in the township of Killaloe, Hagarty, and Richards. The driver went to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and also received a careless driving charge for their troubles.
The Killaloe OPP says to always drive within the law, and encourages the community to start conversations on the risks inattentive driving can have for everyone on the road.
