The Renfrew Wolves are looking to build on last season’s success, and it all begins with training camp this weekend.
Coach Ryan Leonard tells myFM that the public is welcome to watch all the action at the Ma-Te-Way Centre starting Friday evening.
40 young hockey players from across North America will fight for a spot on the Renfrew Wolves over the weekend, with Leonard noting you’ll see a good mix of new and familiar faces during the intersquad games on Friday and Saturday evening at 7:00 PM.
Leonard will have a few decisions to make when it’s all said and done. His coaching staff will have to whittle that 40-player camp roster down to 26 before they travel to the Pembroke Memorial Centre for an exhibition game against the Pembroke Lumber Kings at 7:00 PM on Sunday.
The Renfrew Wolves head coach notes that he’s hoping to further build on the team’s community outreach in their second season in Renfrew. With COVID-19 restrictions well in the rear view mirror, the team is set to increase it’s volunteer presence in town.
