While it’s a learning curve over who’s on your side when the big boys plan to bring a 5G cellular tower to town, the motto may be, “squawk loud enough and somebody may listen”.
At Arnprior Council Monday, Mayor Walter Stack updated the community on discussions with (and about) Rogers Communications- which has apparently had its eyes on a piece of property at Edward and William Streets for the past several years.
CRINS, The Canadian Radiocommunications Information and Notification Service, is not, as the Mayor first believed, a consultancy working on behalf of the municipality, but rather a body of experts that liaises between parties to reduce potential siting conflicts.
Walter Stack says he’s identified three alternative sites in Town to Rogers, and the communications giant is already in conversation with one of them.
The CRINS report on matters to date is expected to be shared with Council in September.
