Something as simple as leaving the keys in the ignition can make your vehicle an easy mark for theft.
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP are on the case with one such incident that occurred between Monday, July 25th and Wednesday, July 27th.
Police tell myFM that the keys were left in a yellow 2015 Can Am Commander Max 1000 cc Side-by-Side UTV on Hila Road in Whitewater Region before it was stolen.
Before being taken, the UTV had Ontario License plates “4DK87” attached.
Anyone with information that could help with their investigation should call the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Detachment or Renfrew County Crime Stoppers.
Police say that reducing the risk of having your vehicle stolen can be done with four simple steps: Roll up your windows, keep your keys on you, park in a well lit area, and keep valuables out of sight.
