Kayaks will hit Lake Dore this weekend for a fishing tournament.
The event is hosted by the Kayak Anglers Association of the Outaouais and is part of the first ever Water and Dirt Festival in the Ottawa Valley.
The Kayak Fishing Tournament will take over Lake Dore on Saturday, August 6th, 2022 from 7:00am to 3:00pm.
There will be free camping for tents at Melissa Bishop Park in the baseball diamond with parking available across the street.
The cost is $100 per person and with half the money going towards the payout and the other half supporting Soldier On.
The Kayak fishing tournament is a 5-bass catch-picture-release run and gun format.
Personal floatation devices must be worn at all times, no live bait is allowed and kayaks are only allowed, including paddle, pedal or those with electric motors.
Pictures of the fish will be submitted online through the TourneyX app and the fish must be at least 12″ to be accepted.
There will be a meal, entertainment, swag and loot bags handed out after the kayak fishing tournament tournament.
A full list of rules and regulations and event registration is available online.
