The County of Renfrew is thanking the Renfrew County ATV Club for a $40,000 donation.
The donation was received in 2021, but a cheque presentation took place recently.
According to the County of Renfrew, the money will be used for ongoing trail maintenance and additional control access gates in the Pembroke area.
Chair of the Development and Property Committee, Bob Sweet, says the Renfrew County ATV Club memberships have grown dramatically in the past number of years.
Warden Debbie Robinson says the county appreciates not only the donation, but all the volunteers hours club members spend on the trail doing outreach, education and trail maintenance.
The four seasons, multi-use Algonquin Trail is complete from Smiths Falls to Petawawa and is part of the 296-kilometer Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail that stretches to Mattawa.
