Destination Local hits Mill Music, as myFM spoke with owner Steve St. Michael on why the move from touring musician to owning his own music shop in Renfrew nearly four decades ago.
A guitarist himself, St. Michael stocks plenty of Martin and Gibson acoustic models, as well as electric Fenders at his Raglan Street South location. You can also find plenty of drums, keyboards and accessories to suit your needs and if they don’t have it, St. Michael says they’ll order it for you.
He and Store Manager Richard Collins are also available for both sales and service of your instruments, making Mill Music a great store for experienced musicians and beginners alike.
St. Michael says that he’s encouraged by the recent return of musical events like the Music in the Park and the Renfrew Bluegrass Festival, calling them great for people learning to play an instrument.
St. Michael also notes that Mill Music, situated at the iconic yellow flour mill downtown, has been a favoured stop for bands like the Good Brothers and Glass Tiger during it’s 39 year legacy.
