Renfrew continues to add to it’s municipal office after COVID-19 and retirements left positions open in recent months.
Arthur Smith officially took over as the Town’s Treasurer on July 4th, bringing with him 10 years of municipal experience as part of Saskatoon’s Finance Department as well as similar roles in Bancroft and, most recently, as Treasurer for Deep River.
Mayor Don Eady says Smith’s “knowledge, methodology, and range of experience will be a much needed and welcome addition to the town.”
Chief Administrative Officer Robert Tremblay notes that Smith’s skills will be invaluable for his new role in Renfrew.
Tremblay also thanks Erin Broome for her work as Interim Treasurer dating back to the midst of the pandemic, praising her “efforts, dedication, and professionalism.”
Smith is looking forward to working with the rest of the Town’s staff and the new challenges ahead of him.
