COVID-19 cases are on the rise in the Ottawa Valley.
The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is monitoring signs for COVID-19 particles in Pembroke and Petawawa wastewater.
The RCDHU says recent signs are relatively stable, but COVID-19 particles are still being detected locally.
Health unit staff are reminding the community to keep COVID-19 in mind when participating in summer get-togethers in the coming weeks.
The RCDHU says there has been four new outbreaks in the last ten days.
The Champlain Region’s Hospital Chiefs of Staff and Medical Officers of Health say the best way to protect yourself and your family is to:
- get vaccinated with all the doses you are eligible for;
- limit your close contacts;
- wear a mask in indoor public spaces;
- practice frequent hand hygiene; and
- stay home if you are sick.
