A five year police investigation has resulted in serious charges against a man from Madawaska Valley.
The Killaloe OPP says they started investigating fraud and thefts at a church in Madawaska Valley back in 2017.
The Renfrew County Crime Unit was assigned to the case and have charged 62-year-old Christopher Shalla with fraud over $5,000, criminal breach of trust, obtaining false pretences over $5,000 and theft over $5,000.
The accused was released on conditions with a court date coming up August 10th in Killaloe.
