It was quite the scene outside of the post office in Pembroke on Thursday afternoon (June 16th, 2022). The OPP arrested and charged a person who was wanted on an outstanding warrant. The arrest took place around 1:00pm along Pembroke Street East and the OPP used a conducted energy weapon.
The arrest was caught on camera and a video shared on YouTube had over 12,000 views at the time this news story was posted.
The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP arrested 29-year-old Dakota Alexander Wimmer of Petawawa. The accused was charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer and one count of resisting a peace officer. The accused was held for a bail hearing today in Pembroke.
