Concerning graffiti sprayed on the walls of Renfrew Collegiate Institute remains subject to an investigation from local police.
Hannah MacMillan, Communications Director with the Renfrew County District School Board, tells myFM that RCI students and parents will be given an update as soon as the OPP releases new information to the public.
MacMillan says the hope is to have that update available for everyone soon.
While what exactly ended up tagged on RCI’s walls is not known at the moment, MacMillan confirmed it has spurred a police presence at the school today. She also says that it’s important for the school board to comply with police as the investigation continues.
MacMillan says to keep an eye on the School Board’s social media accounts, as they’re looking to provide their update by the end of Tuesday so parents will know what to expect tomorrow and moving forward.
In light of the events at RCI, myFM has also reached out to St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Renfrew to see if any measures are being taken to protect students and staff.
