Paramedics in Renfrew are checking up on patients who require a ventilator and oxygen at home.
This comes following prolonged power outages across the region.
In Pembroke and Petawawa, some homes were without power for upwards of nine hours and Hydro One says it could be days for the power to be fully restored.
Chief Michael Nolan says community paramedics are conducting home visits to patients on ventilators and home oxygen to provide back up power generation to avoid them having to be admitted to hospital due to the extended power outages.
Paramedics in Renfrew County also responded to a motor vehicle collision involving five patients and a separate ATV crash, both related to the storm on Saturday, May 21st, 2022.
The County of Renfrew says Centennial Lake Road (County Road 65) and Matawatchan Road (County Road 71) are only open to emergency vehicles and local traffic as public works crews work to remove downed trees and power lines.
The OPP is also investigating after one person was struck and killed by a falling tree on Calabogie Road around 3:30pm.
