With the Victoria Day long weekend ahead of us, local Police tell myFM that they will be on the lookout for high risk driving behaviours.
The Upper Ottawa Valley and Killaloe OPP have both announced their part in the annual Canada Road Safety Week campaign, which runs now through to the end of Victoria Day Monday.
The detachments tell myFM they’re especially on the lookout for the four main contributors to personal injury and collisions on the roads: impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving, and a lack of occupant restraint.
Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment Operations Manager, Staff Sergeant MaryAnn MacNeil tells us that Victoria Day brings a higher than usual volume of traffic to our roadways and that their commitment to Canada Road Safety Week demonstrations their dedication to keeping local roads safe for all.
