Police and paramedics responded to a serious collision in Algonquin Park.
The OPP says shortly after 1:00pm on Sunday (May 8th, 2022), a driver of an SUV lost control of their vehicle while swerving to avoid an animal.
The vehicle struck a rock cut and the 68-year-old driver from Barry’s Bay was air lifted to hospital with serious injuries.
The crash took place on Highway 60, near Opeongo Lake, in Algonquin Provincial Park.
Police are reminding drivers to be mindful of animals and say swerving to avoid a collision can result in a loss of control and serious injury.
