Construction Currently Underway at the MAC
The Town of Renfrew has big plans for the expanded Ma-Te-Way Activity Centre when it’s complete.
Mayor Don Eady, Town councilors and staff, as well as representatives from general contractor Buttcon were on hand for Wednesday’s open house for the expansion.
Kevin Hill, Renfrew’s Director of Parks, Recreation, and Facilities, spoke with myFM at Wednesday’s MAC Open House. He told us about some of the things to look forward to:
Councilor Tom Sidney tells myFM the progress on the expansion is a long time coming.
And the construction is on pace to meet it’s estimated target of the end of this year according to Michael Mercier, the President of general contractor Buttcon. He says minor delays due to cold weather last month have not dampened their expectations.
The complete complex, to be renamed the myFM Centre, will include a second ice rink, facilities for indoor sports and activities, the Bonnechere First Nation Cultural Centre, as well as the new locations for myFM, Child’s Paradise Day Care, Renfrew Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Centre, and Ultimate Fitness.
