The Town of Renfrew will continue to help animal control efforts in nearby townships with two new deals agreed to at their Tuesday, April 26 town meeting.
The five-year deals run from 2023 to 2027, and allow the Townships of Horton and McNab-Braeside to use the animal pound at 529 Lisgar Avenue in Renfrew to board lost pets that have been picked up by local animal control.
For the service, Renfrew will charge an annual fee starting at around $1700 and gradually increasing to $1850 as the deal progresses. The municipalities will also pay a $10 daily fee per animal for the duration of their stay will also be charged.
Renfrew already has similar deals in place with the Townships of Admaston/Bromley and Greater Madawaska through 2026.
If your animal has been picked up by animal control you can call (613) 281-3773 to co-ordinate the pick-up of your animal.
