Local OPP were busy at the end of last week, as they participated in the Long Weekend Seatbelt Campaign over Easter Weekend.
Officers from the detachment conducted traffic stops, focusing on seatbelt compliance and education.
A combined seventy-five charges regarding seatbelt safety were laid during the weekend between Renfrew, Arnprior, and Killaloe.
Police remind myFM that seatbelts are proven to save lives in a collision and they encourage experienced drivers to set a good example for younger drivers and passengers by buckling up and making sure their passengers do, too.
They also remind you that you are required by law to ensure they have proper (and properly installed) child car seats for babies, toddlers and small children.
