A tribute service took place Monday (March 28th) for the late Theresa Carron of Arnprior, who passed away Sunday March 20th following a lengthy illness.
Theresa died at home, surrounded by family.
Visitation and service arrangements were entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home on John Street North and internment at the Malloch Road Cemetery was followed by a celebration of Theresa’s community contributions at the Arnprior Legion- based out of the kitchen she once ran.
Not one for half measures, Theresa was involved with the Legion Hallowe’en Dance- a celebration that outgrew the premises.
Theresa Carron’s obituary notes, “Our community has lost a great volunteer…a lady who was always in the service of others.
When Theresa participated in our “Women of Influence” feature in July of 2020, she suggested the Santa Claus Parade as her biggest accomplishment.
Theresa was an annual guest on Oldies 107.7 as organizer of the Town of Arnprior’s Annual Santa Claus parade, and more recently, the stationary Santa Parade at the Nick Smith Centre.
Theresa Carron’s advice to would-be volunteers: “Just do it.” Even an hour a week can make all the difference.
