Young bowlers from Renfrew are gearing up to take on Ontario’s best in May.
The provincial finals are in Brantford and Collingwood starting May 1st.
Program coordinator and coach for Renfrew’s youth team Ken Dick says the team of eight bowlers in the Bantam Boys and Girls divisions, as well as Junior and Senior Boys divisions are confident and ready to compete.
Coach Dick also let myFM know some of the Renfrew team are taking on extra frames with tough competition in order to hone their skills.
Interest in the program has been high in recent years, and Coach Dick welcomes youth to come in and try the sport out.
Coach Dick says registration for bowling in the Renfrew area is higher than most of our district, and that a deep run at the Provincial tournament could boost those numbers even more.
More information on the Youth Bowling program can be found the Opeongo Bowldromes website and facebook page.
