Exciting news for the Arnprior area as a new manufacturer has been welcomed into town.
An update was provided to the County of Renfrew development and property committee on Tuesday afternoon (March 8th, 2022).
Manager of Economic Development Alastair Baird and Business Development Officer David Wybou recently met with the new owners of the Sandvik industrial building and site in Arnprior.
Metaligna are manufacturers of prefabricated cottage and three season structures for the resort, campground, private cottage and hunt camp market. The company also manufactures structural panels for use in residential, multi-unit residential, commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. The company has already employed local residents to supplement their existing Ottawa-based employees.
Arnprior councillor and county representative Dan Lynch told committee members the cost of these pre-built cottages is around $150,000 and adds all you need is to put it on a foundation.
Lynch suggested the new company talk with Triodec in Arnprior who builds modular footings that can raise and lower homes in flood prone areas.
