The cost of gas continues to rise.
On Thursday last week (March 3rd) in Pembroke, gas jumped 11 cents a litre overnight to bring the cost for regular up to 165.9.
This morning (March 8th) at the same pumps, the cost was up another 19 cents a litre to 184.9.
In the last five days, the cost of gas in Pembroke has gone up roughly 30 cents a litre.
Small car (45L) owners are paying an extra $13 to fill up and truck owners (98L) are paying roughly $30 more at the pumps.
US President Joe Biden has announced he is banning all Russian oil imports, calling the move a powerful blow against Russia’s ability to fund its offensive against Ukraine.He admits it will bring costs to Americans, particularly at the gas pump, but says the US won’t be part of subsidizing President Vladimir Putin’s war.
