Environment Canada is calling for a messy mix of weather this weekend.
Freezing rain is expected Saturday night into Sunday.
Untreated surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery and local power outages may be possible.
A special weather statement has been issued for the Ottawa Valley and across Renfrew County.
Freezing rain may last for several hours before changing over to rain as temperatures creep up to 12 degrees on Sunday.
Special weather statement in effect for:
- Barry’s Bay – Killaloe
- Petawawa – Pembroke – Cobden
- Renfrew – Arnprior – Calabogie
- Deep River – Whitney – Eastern Algonquin Park
- Western Algonquin Park – Lake of Two Rivers
- Ottawa North – Kanata – Orléans
- Ottawa South – Richmond – Metcalfe
