Close to 30 local residents descended to city hall in Pembroke on Saturday for a “Freedom Rally”. Protesters were calling for an end to all COVID-19 mandates. One protester told myFM news that the vaccine mandates don’t make sense.

A protester also says he feels that the convoy to Ottawa has sparked a lot of interest.
The protest remained peaceful for several hours according to the OPP, with no calls for public safety concerns. Those in attendance plan to hold more rallies in the future.
