The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) says 91.5% of local residents over the age of 12 have received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 89% have two or more doses.
The highest uptake for vaccination in Renfrew County and District is in residents over the age of 60 while under half of eligible residents between 5 and 11 years old have received a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The health unit says nearly 4,000 children between the ages of 5 and 11 have received
at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
The RCDHU says all residents over the age of five, including those who are or are planning to become pregnant, should get the COVID-19 vaccine as it’s the best way to protect yourself and those around your from serious illness.
All vaccination clinics across Renfrew County and District are accepting walk-in appointments.
