The OPP has charged a 55-year-old from Pembroke with manslaughter.
Police say the charges were laid as a result of an investigation in Pembroke dating back to April 28th of 2021.
The OPP says 58-year-old Jim Witters was found unresponsive in a home on Elizabeth Street in the City of Pembroke and later died in hospital.
Police have now charged 55-year-old Celement Mainville of Pembroke with manslaughter.
Mainville is also facing charges of obstructing a peace officer and for trafficking fentanyl after charges were laid in relation to this case last year (2021).
The accused has been released from custody with a court date coming up in Pembroke on February 22nd, 2022.
The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
