Long-term care staff in the County of Renfrew are taking the extra step to ensure the health and safety of residents.
An update was provided to county council Wednesday morning (January 26th, 2022) by the Director of Long-Term Care for the County of Renfrew, Mike Blackmore.
Blackmore says there are now 15 positive resident cases at Bonnechere Manor in Renfrew in a number of different units.
He adds another 13 staff at the long-term care home in Renfrew have tested positive for COVID-19.
Blackmore says impacted residents are isolating, tray service is underway, with enhanced infection prevention measures in place.
The Director of Long-Term Care for the County of Renfrew says the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is going a long way towards mitigating symptom severity.
Chief Administrative Officer with the County of Renfrew, Paul Morreau, wanted to thank all staff and management for their work.
Morreau says the adult day program at Bonnechere Manor has been transformed into a room for management, who are on site 24 hours a day, 7-days a week, with some sleeping overnight at the long-term care home in Renfrew to ensure they are taking care of residents.
