The Town of Renfrew has reached a 5-year agreement with the Township of Admaston/Bromley and Greater Madawaska regarding use of the local dog pound.
Council approved the agreement at their meeting on January 11th, 2022.
The facility located at 529 Lisgar Avenue will house dogs picked up by local animal control officers.
The Town of Renfrew will be paid on an annual basis for use of the impoundment facility: $1,678 (2022), $1,712 (2023), $1,746 (2024), $1,781 (2025), and $1,817 (2026).
The Town will invoice local municipalities $10.00 per day per impounded dog based on the information collected from the pound records.
If your animal has been picked up by animal control you can call (613) 281-3773 to co-ordinate the pick-up of your animal.
The Town of Renfrew says no animals, including cats, may run at large.
On the towns website is says if your pet is off your property, it must be on a leash and under the care and control of its owner or you could be fined.
The Town of Renfrew has agreements for the use of the animal impoundment facility with:
- Horton Township (2020 – 2022)
- McNab/Braeside (2021 – 2022)
- Admaston/Bromley (2022 – 2026)
- Greater Madawaska (2022 – 2026)
