The Town of Renfrew is host to over 100 local businesses in its downtown core alone.
For the fourth time in less than two years, local small businesses are dealing with pandemic restrictions, and they’re still coming up with creative ways to keep their doors open. Ryan Mallough with the Canadian Federation of Independent Business tells us that outside the box thinking has been a key during the pandemic.
Mallough also says he’s impressed with how local restaurants, and even craft breweries, are engaging their regulars and new customers.
The Senior Director with the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, says while offering online options like cooking lessons for restaurants and tasting parties for craft breweries may not be ideal, they do offer opportunities.
In many cases they’ve developed online strategies that can be used after they fully re-open, whenever that may be. He says the new online footprint will benefit their local presence, while allowing them to explore virtual opportunities in other parts of the province too.
