Christmas has come and gone and if you’re looking to get rid of your real tree, depending where you live, there are different ways to go about it.
The Town of Renfrew says Christmas trees should not be placed curbside for collection. Residents in Renfrew are asked to bring their trees to the landfill site where they can be disposed of at no cost (as long as they are not bagged or wrapped).
Residents in Bonnechere Valley are able to drop off Christmas trees to the Township Garage (145 John Street), on or before Sunday, January 9th, 2022. The Township says there is a designated drop off area at the municipal garage. Christmas trees can also be taken to the Sand Road Landfill site (957 Sand Road).
Collection of Christmas trees is also underway in the Upper Ottawa Valley. This past week, residents in Petawawa were able to put trees out for curbside collection. Next week, starting January 10th, 2022, residents in Pembroke and Laurentian Valley can put Christmas trees out to be picked up on your regular scheduled collection day. Christmas trees are also accepted at the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre for drop-off at no charge during the month of January from residents in partner municipalities.
