It’s a record breaking number of new COVID-19 infections in Renfrew County and District.
On Monday, January 3rd, 2022, the Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) reported a record 281 new cases (which includes new infections from the weekend).
The 281 new cases being reported is more cases than all of what was recorded last week in the RCDHU coverage area.
Two local residents have also died from complications due to COVID-19 in the last seven days.
The weekly case summary put out on December 30th, 2021, showed nine residents in the hospital with one person in the intensive care unit battling COVID-19.
With 1,652 confirmed cases, 1,080 considered resolved and 13th deaths reported by the RCDHU, that leaves 559 active cases spread out across Renfrew County and District.
