The Renfrew County District School Board has updated parents and guardians on some of its potential concerns that could impact education in the area in 2022.
The Board had earlier advised it was issuing students a rapid antigen test kit containing five tests to use during the winter break and provided links to instructional videos on how to test.
There has been no indication of any planned shift to virtual learning, but with a new COVID-19 variant making the rounds, the Board would like students to take all belongings home during the holidays just in case.
Should a return to virtual learning become necessary- as ordered by the Provincial Government or the RCDHU, your child’s school will contact you to coordinate the distribution of technology.
The Health Unit has been quite clear that because the Omicron variant is the most transmisible variant yet
that if anyone in the household displays symptoms, everyone regardless of vaccination status is required to self-isolate until the high-risk contact identified obtains a negative PCR test result.
No household members shall attend work, school or childcare while self-isolating.
(If a vaccinated and asymptomatic individual is identified as a high-risk contact, household members do not have to self-isolate.)
