Roughly 2,000 Hydro One customers in Renfrew County are still in the dark after a massive wind storm this weekend.
Most of the power outages are around Barry’s Bay, Combermere, Deacon, Round Lake, Bonnechere and Killaloe.
Trees are still downed on power lines in parts of the Ottawa Valley.
The estimated time power will be back on ranges from 4:30pm tonight (Monday, December 13th, 2021) to 11:00 am tomorrow morning.
More than 535,000 Hydro One customers have experienced power outages caused by one of the worst wind storms in recent years.
High winds of more than 100 km/h swept across the province late Saturday night causing significant damage and delaying power restoration efforts.
Crews have since restored power to approximately 456,000 customers.
To-date, the company has reported more than 245 broken poles, 80 cross arms and approximately 70 damaged transformers due to downed power lines and fallen trees, with these numbers expected to increase.
Hydro One says they’re using all available resources and equipment including helicopters and off-road equipment to make repairs and find damage.
