After tentatively operating under the name Four Rivers Ontario Health Team since it was announced on September 17th, the union of over sixty health system partners has officially changed its name to “Ottawa West Four Rivers Ontario Health Team.”
A majority of participants believe the name chosen best represents the population and geography that the OHT serves.
Nothing about the mandate changes- OHTs are teams of health and community support services providers that are accountable for delivering coordinated care to a defined geographic population.
OHTs were created by the Province under the People’s Healthcare Act, 2019 and bring together health care services such as primary care, hospitals, public health, long term care, home and community care, and community support services under one umbrella.
In its first year, Ottawa West Four Rivers OHT will focus on improving mental health and addictions services.
