Falling may seem like a preoccupation in Renfrew County, where statistically the region reports an excess of accidental falls which is well in excess of the Provincial average.
The Arnprior Family Health Team will be running a Falls Prevention Exercise Class in two locations beginning later this month.
It’s a low impact program for those ages 55 and older who wish to increase their balance and strength.
First to get underway are classes at the Nick Smith Centre, beginning Monday November 8th. They will run Mondays and Fridays from 9AM to 10AM through to January 28th of next year.
Alternatively, you can attend sessions at the Arnprior Masonic Hall, 31 James Street from 11:30AM to 12:30PM- these run Tuesdays and Thursdays and commence November 9th; but do NOT register for both events.
Participants must bring indoor shoes and a water bottle; optional equipment includes towel, hand weights or bands.
A link to NSC registrations is found on our website, and for information on either Falls Prevention Exercise Class, contact the Arnprior Family Health Team at 613-622-5763.
