COVID may be less a risk this Halloween, but remember- most trick-or-treaters are not vaccinated, so we must do our best to protect them.
The Renfrew County and District Health Unit has some Halloween Safety Tips for those giving out candy on October 31st.
Set a station up outside your porch on the front lawn or at the entrance to your garage.
To keep a two-metre distance, place a table between yourself and the trick-or-treaters.
Avoid kids grabbing candy by giving out purchased or packaged items with tongs or a scoop.
Wear a mask and use hand sanitizer before and after dispensing treats.
Do not hand out treats if you are feeling unwell.
