Share the Road is what it means, and police services across Quebec are participating.
The awareness campaign begins today (October 22nd) and runs through the 28th of the month.
A parallel effort by Quebec’s Auto Insurance Bureau runs until November 14th.
This year’s theme is, “For safe travel, think about sharing the road!”
Not only is obeying the law important- but better behaviours are in everybody’s interest.
Show patience, vigilance and courtesy towards other road users, regardless of how they are getting about.
Statistics show pedestrian fatalities trended downward in 2020 with 51 walkers killed in collisions, an almost 20 percent drop over the previous five-year average.
As visibility drops in the late Fall and early winter, pedestrians should were reflective clothing and drivers should be more mindful.
Let’s take the time to adopt safe behaviors and save lives!
