A little later than anticipated, but after a successful move-in day Thursday, Grove Nursing Home residents enjoyed their first dinner together in their new and expanded home.
Preparations took months, and the move was led and supported by Grove staff, volunteers, families, and external movers.
Logistically it involved two phases, with morning and afternoon groups.
Three buses shuttled the residents across–an approximate 20-second drive from door-to-door.
As part of a phased occupancy plan, the 60 residents from the old Grove have moved into two Resident Home Areas and the third RHA will open soon.
The construction of the new Grove broke ground in November 2019 and has increased the capacity for the number of residents from 60 to 96 to help improve local access to care and meet the growing demand.
