It’s Fire Prevention Week- and while Rick Desarmia is an old hand at the drill, it’s the first occasion we greet him as Arnprior Chief on the radio.
Desarmia welcomed over one hundred visitors to the Fire Station last Saturday and says any and all visitors- whatever time of year they arrive, are given a fire prevention reminder as part of the interaction.
The Chief says this year’s theme is Learn the sounds of Fire Safety.
Desarmia says one should test your alarms monthly, and change their batteries every Spring and Fall when the clocks change.
And, says the Chief, that applies to carbon monoxide detectors as well.
