The Town of Arnprior is congratulating a former Senior of the Year who has gone on to claim a Provincial accolade.
Darrel O’Shaughnessy is a recipient of an Ontario Senior Achievement Award.
The Ontario Senior Achievement Awards recognize people who have made outstanding contributions to their communities through voluntary or professional activities after the age of 65.
Darrel meets all of those criteria.
He is the Chair of the Greater Arnprior Seniors Council (GASC), was involved in forming the local Seniors Active Living Centre (SALC), as well as the creation of the local Men’s Shed.
Earlier, he founded the local Dragon Boat Club.
